The Chapel is not only a symbolic building of Yonsei University but also a place to be inspired by the Christian spirit represented by the missionary Underwood who arrived in the country 136 years ago. The building has been praised for embodying the spiritual value of aesthetics that the university pursues.

The design of Christine Chapel is focused on adjusting balance while meeting the needs of its primary purpose as a chapel and to be served as a multi-purpose hall. In addition, the design takes into consideration the relation between environment, space, and human in order to harmonize them as a whole. These aspects of the design that the designer has value can be found from the use of material. Oppose to the heaviness of hardwood and stone on the floor, sheer fabric is used on the wall and ceiling. The choice of fabric material has made not solely based on its visual aspect, but also because of its functional aspect. The fabric covering the wall and ceiling absorbs sounds, therefore, serves as acoustic material. Inside of the fabric, there are speakers and RGB lighting modules are installed.

The designer has used small space around the chapel to create mounding to visually block the view while bringing nature inside. As the season passes, plants will grow, leaves and snow will fall on the mound. The window behind the stage can be closed by a moving wall allowing audiences to be undistracted. Another notable element of the stage is the mosaic screen. Compare to the conventional stained glass, the mosaic screen creates a soft and calming atmosphere to space
