The multibrand store Saltwater opened at Malta International Airport in 2018, with 270 sqm of total surface split up on 5 corners and a central sale area, besides the back-of-house services

Soft-toned colors and materials form the palette of this boutique concept, giving an ethereal atmosphere, elegant.

For most of the boutique including the brand’s corners the flooring is in Botticino cream color stone. Instead the dividing piers between corners are identified with ribbed Canaletto walnut covering in between two layers of Rosa Perlino pink stone. The marble continues horizontally above each brand corner, framing the luminous fascia with the brands’ names.

This fascia is made by a modular system of suspended LED illuminated textured glass tiles that give an elegant touch, like a shimmering crown.

Each brand corner furniture is identified by the single brand’s own interior concept, the central area is equipped with free-standing furniture designed specifically for Saltwater and identified by a Mint green marble floor.

The display and sale tables are made up of curved edged Rosa Perlino marble monolithic blocks resting on two wooden drawer sets. These are raised above the floor by slender champagne-colored polished curved steel structures.

The free-standing hanging display elements include also monolithic stone as a base, from which rises a thin Champagne color polished steel structure that, with its play of reflections, makes the merchandise protagonist.

The main cash desk and the fitting-rooms are set back, discreet, but clearly visible.

The fitting rooms are hidden behind a rich olive-green curtain, that cover a solid wall, which contrasts with the Rosa Perlino marble access portal. A decorative black metal lamp with three back-illuminated disks, create a welcoming and home environment, so as to put customers at ease who try on clothes.

Beveled-edge light coves, custom-made by Flos for this project, illuminate and decorate the ceiling of the central area. The diffused light inside the coves and the adjustable spotlights that come out of it create a perfect balance of ambient light and accent light that makes the displayed goods stand out.

The facade is a large portal in Rosa Perlino marble, with two large communication pictures at both ends and the backlit Saltwater sign on the top band.
