ItalyPost Factory

The new space designed by ItalyPost together with Goodnet sees LAGO as the sole interior-design partner. The aim was to build a cultural context that would promote networking among entrepreneurs, institutions, and the scientific and academic world.

ItalyPost wanted to create a “factory of ideas”, and chose LAGO to design a welcoming, stimulating working environment. LAGO’s philosophy of putting people first and using design as a tool for social transformation tied in perfectly with the plans for the new ItalyPost headquarters.

The facility has made a significant contribution to revitalising part of the centre of Padua. It is spread over two floors – the ground floor and basement – and occupies some 500 m2. It hosts three offices, a company restaurant, and an events space. These three areas have been fully furnished by LAGO and will host ItalyPost Factory’s core activities: cultural festivals, literary and publishing work, and studying and researching developments in the business world.

When asked about the project and ItalyPost’s partnership with LAGO, founder Filiberto Zovico commented: “Daniele Lago and I started thinking about something years ago and today we have made it a reality. We took a chance and it has paid off. We wanted to create something like the Circolo dei Lettori in Turin in Padua, offering book launches and a place for discussion, something every evening. More than anything we wanted to bring the vibrant heart of Veneto to life with ideas and events”.

The structure is a real LAGO habitat, where you can find some of the best design solutions to furnish office and work spaces. From tables and suspended Air bookshelves, the offices are open and transparent and look out onto the surrounding space, helped by the glass partitions and an interconnecting layout.

In the elegant staff restaurant, LAGO’s iconic kitchen products immediately capture your attention. A modern 36e8 island Air kitchen, suspended tables, modular pantry units and colourful designer chairs furnish the shared space at ItalyPost Factory, creating a convivial atmosphere that stimulates interaction and discussion, even during downtime.

Within ItalyPost Factory, you can also find LAGO Place, a thinktank for new approaches and schools of thought, a place to sow the seeds of innovation and discuss the future of business and the local area. The events room can be organised either as a conference venue, seating up to 80 people, or as a workshop space for up to 35 people. Here, LAGO’s innovative seating has been used, such as the Air sofa and Joynt chairs. The combinations of colour and texture they bring create a design-packed space that stimulates creativity, and new ideas and plans.

ItalyPost Factory is the ideal meeting point between work and play, providing a functional workspace with an appealing design. These offices have been designed with employee welfare in mind, and they are the result of a desire to promote social and cultural development in the local area.
