Conservative restoration of the East Wing and the Oven Room of the Abbey of Praglia | Architettura Tommasi
Teolo / Italy
The Abbey of Praglia stands on the ruins of an ancient medieval castle dating back to around the year 1000. Now a national monument, it has been a long-term project for us, and we are fully aware of the outcome of the restoration, which was primarily conservative, with a few contemporary additions.
The work was carried out in several coordinated phases over the years, due to the complex structure and the significant financial commitment required.
The monument demanded a thorough preparatory study, and before any intervention took place, we carefully explored the most suitable solutions in line with our restoration philosophy—acting with attention and sensitivity, with the goal of reviving the ancient craftsmanship without letting it fade away over time.
