Facing the fish market in Palamós, watching the fishermen return to port and opening its doors for them after the long day ... this is how this humble little house has spent its years, watching the sea from its single facade.
Upon entering you find a 5x4m space, this is the whole house! four floors and one floor below the roof though, stairs everywhere ... a miniature skyscraper. Accordingly the owners told us: "we want a lift" ... an incredible challenge.
We leave the salt, sand, and sun on the ground floor and we begin to move vertically through the space. A space so small that there isn't even place for walls ... we enter an inhabitable piece of furniture with openings that collect light from the windows to illuminate the stairs. Stairs so transparent that work as a lamp along the route.
The wood, like it does in a boat, hosts two single rooms, master bedroom with bathroom, kitchen-dining room and finally, folds becoming the living-room sofa.
