The project situated in Rothley, Northumberland,UK and it aims to celebrate the key figure of English landscape designer in the past -Lancelot “Capability” Brown. The site is close to one of his work - Rothley Lake. Two ambitions are to be realized. Firstly, to create a focus for the celebration, recording of Lancelot “Capability” Brown’s life and the appreciation and interpretation of his work, in particular his Northumbrian landscapes. A national archive will be created, forming a repository of drawings, associated documents and records. Located within or adjacent to a Brown landscape the proposal will also form a threshold for the first hand appreciation of his work. Secondly, a series of land art workshops will be created, emerging the characteristic of the landscape. Education and training for the next generation can be achieved by the workshops . The public can have an opportunity to join the making process of the land arts with artists as a learning tool for them to learn how to appreciate the landscape . Landscape become a display area for the land arts. a poetic layer of the landscape will be created through the works. A series of workshops and programs are created along the suggested route in a natural way. Flowing circulation allows visitors freely walk between the interior, exterior spaces, the courtyard and the art works. Three main types of workshop of land arts are defined and its aim to respond different potentials and topography of the site.Land Art Workshops for Grass Field , rock faces and woodland topography. Programs, spaces, landscape and visitor, all these elements become part of the experience in the journey.
