Moiré ascent is a staircase inspired from the harmonic streams and ethereal movements for ethical office functionality.

The project:

The staircase comprises of twenty-eight ornaments made of CNC cut plywood that sprout from eac9h step and thin out gradually upwards. This construction aims at bridging the main working space with the board room in the new architecture office “Aegean Landmarks” in Athens, Greece.

Diverted from the widespread CNC Cutting of manufacturing identical and repetitive parts, this project aims to fabricate multiple unique elements that compose an integrated ensemble while sequenced.

The plywood as a raw material is sustainable and economic. Moreover, CNC cutting is a simple and safe method which indicates the versatility and remarkable aesthetics of digital fabrication. The outcome is a novel architectural expression establishing new prospects in the digital design field.
