Interior designer Meital Salomon was asked to plan and design a model apartment for the Lagoon project. The apartment spans 300 sqm, located on the 34th floor of the luxurious residential building.

"I came into the space when it was just a skeleton with no interior divisions - and the only thing I saw in in front of me, other than the concrete and scaffolding, was the sea and the dunes. I immediately knew this project would be the design of a spacious, functional sky high villa with an air of luxury like French fashion house Louis Vuitton," Salomon explains.

The visual concept was inspired by the classic Louis Vuitton brown suitcase. The suitcase is typically purchased not just for its function but also for its beautiful design - as an investment. This was the feel the designer wanted the potential buyers to get from the apartment.

The classic brown suitcase is famous for its high quality, sold for over 150 years and still starring in fashion magazines. Salomon wanted the design of the apartment to be equally timeless.

Salomon used the suitcase's geometric, colorful motifs around the entire apartment. The resulting look means that both the angular and rounded shapes decorating the suitcase are incorporated into every space – from fishbone parquet flooring, through wall coverings in the space around the kitchen vitrines, the design of the bathroom cabinets and all the way to the selection of furniture.

Similarly, the color palette of the apartment was also inspired by the suitcase, with chocolate brown and touches of champagne perfectly incorporated with the view of the sea and dunes visible from all directions.

The Bulthaup kitchen was designed to be the apartment's crown jewel, with the higher wall cabinets made of champagne toned metal and the kitchen island spanning six and a half meters and covered in velvety chocolate brown. The counter of the island is made out of Dekton stone (a highly durable synthetic stone) that incorporates the tones of both the cabinets and the island itself.

Drawing inspiration from the suitcase through the entire design process resulted in a luxurious, fashionable and timeless apartment.
