Freedom Plaza is a 115,000 square-foot, 10-acre project that serves as a retail and dining commercial hub for the Jordan Downs community in Los Angeles. This shopping center is an integral part of the redevelopment of the Jordan Downs community in Watts, California. Since opening in 1944, the Jordan Downs community has not seen any new commercial development in more than 50 years. The center features retailers such as Nike, Ross Dress for Less and Bright Now! Dental. Additionally, Freedom Plaza offers guests a grocery store, Smart and Final Extra!, a gym (Blink Fitness), and several dining options including the Habit, Starbucks, and several more to come, along with “community living room” inspired gathering areas and a pedestrian friendly environment. Freedom plaza also maximizes solar opportunities, energy efficiency, and environmental sustainability. The plaza also includes drought tolerant landscaping and an interactive water feature.
