The new camping site Hermitage at Merano (Italy) shows a terraced construction, which forms smoothly part of the existing landscape. In that way it creates observation decks that allow a view over the city of Merano and its surrounding. By the use of drainage concrete for the roads, red grit for the parking slots and big green spaces, the whole area is drained through natural percolation. The new sanitary facilities present an abstract sculpture and they remember the local red coloured porphyry.
