CONCEPT
Harmony of tangles.
The work, which is constituted by four towers writhed together, melts into New York uprightness such us uneven trees in a forest.
This building brings a sense of nature in a city of cement and also an idea of movement in a place where buildings seem to be static.

STRUCTURE
The structure is a metaphor of a climbing ivy, that is represented by a tangle of steel beams. These beams wrapping around each tower of the building, together with bearing cores of lifts, make the building steady and give wide degrees of freedom of movement in case of earthquakes or strong blasts of wind.

GREENERY
The metaphor of the nature, which gives rise to this work, also fills in towers' interiors through multi-floor loggia that are gardens put to use as people's spare time places-to-go. That is a place where people can take a sigh of rilief during their working day without feeling locked in a building. Moreover these gardens allow to have a different microclimate inside the establishment.

PLANS
There is a freedom of movement in each floor thanks to the absence of pilasters, in fact as I have anticipated, the bearing structure is an exoskeleton supported by lifts rooms.

LOCATION
The building is located in a strategic area of New York, between 6th Ave and W 40 St, behind Public Library, really close to Empire State Building.

FUNCTIONS
Building conformation allows to have a multifunctional place comprehending an hotel, flats, offices, restaurants, gyms, bars, and a night club too: in this way it has been created a little city in the same establishment where people have to move only vertically with lifts. So, it is possible to avoid an excessive energy consumption and urban air pollution increase.
