This house was built on the slope of the southern hill formed by the flow of the Yamato River, which is one of the largest river in Nara Prefecture. A concrete structure inserted into the slope supports the ground, and by covering it with a large gable roof, a living space with a good view was created. The roof has three functions. The first is to approach smoothly from the parking lot to the entrance, the second is to concentrate on the view from the living room, and the third is to take in light and wind through the triangular slits on the side.
