Refurbishment of Chahar-Borj Historical House: Varjamkard

Char-Borj Mansion is located about 5 km to the south west of the culture center of Toos in the Char-Borj village. The garden which is known among the locals as "Lord's Mansion", was built during the Qajar Dynasty and used to be the mansion to the village's lord and has been home to different people during the years. There is no record of the builder of the mansion. The garden is almost 4 hectare which in front of it's east wing there is the mansion, at the west wing there is a big fountain and also some parts of the building has been destroyed during the years. There have been numerous attempts at rebuilding of the bulding. The architectural ornements of this buidling include: brick patterns, ornamental frames, shamse, lozi, khefte, hasiri.
Considering the vicinity of the project to the Ferdowsi Tomb and with drawing inspiration from the struggles this peot went through to revive and keep the persian language and mythology and also with the spread of western heroes which are in contrast to our cultur we have decided to revive and spread persian culture and mythologies.
The name of the project is taken from an persian myth, in which the divine warned Jamshid, the king of Iran, about a huge and destructive flood that was coming and ordered him to build a sturdy stronghold to protect the people and other creatures and thus Jamshid built such fortress that was named "Varjamkard" and saved the people, therefore the name was taken of it's reviving and protection aspect of the project.
The project is built of three parts: The maze, The main building and the appendent building. In the maze in addition to it's entertaining part it also has an educating aspect and the path then leads to a store that sells iranian products. The main building consists of the managment room, filming, editting and animation studio for the presentation of our products. The appendant part consists Naghale-Khani, Story writing etc. It is also a place for sharing ideas and to discuss about Iranian myths and in the upper floor there is a coffee shop.
