Passerella ciclopedonale sull'Autostrada A4 Milano-Venezia | Simone Firmo

Il progetto per la realizzazione del sovrappasso ciclopedonale all’Autostrada A4 Milano-Venezia è nato con l’obiettivo di riconnettere, con un percorso protetto per pedoni e ciclisti, il centro città con la zona sud della provincia.

La passerella ciclopedonale si configura ad oggi come un manufatto metallico ad unica campata con una luce di 54 metri ed un peso complessivo di 70'000 kg che permette il completo superamento delle due carreggiate dell’Autostrada A4 senza alcun sostegno centrale.

Il progetto, depositato nella primavera del 2018 e successivamente approvato da Società Autostrade, nasce come opera strategica di connessione della viabilità ed è definito da una struttura metallica reticolare in acciaio che si appoggia su pile realizzate con getto in opera in affiancamento al ponte carrabile esistente.

Ispirandosi alle aree vitivinicole della Franciacorta, la lamiera di rivestimento diviene un inno alla tipicità dei vini della provincia di Brescia riportando la stilizzazione di ben 2366 bollicine nel movimento di luci ed ombre alle diverse ore della giornata. Infatti, se in orario diurno è il sole a creare un gioco di movimenti percepibile al passaggio nella passerella, in notturna lo spettacolo è riservato agli automobilisti che transitano in A4 che, grazie alla presenza di luci a led con intensità variabile verso la zona centrale del manufatto, percepiscono il disegno generato dai vuoti ricavati nella lamiera. Il colore chiaro della verniciatura e la semplicità della struttura permettono di minimizzare l’impatto visivo lasciando spazio alla snellezza della campata unica caratterizzata dal disegno del rivestimento forato. 

Il varo della campata è avvenuto nella notte del 21 aprile, limitando al minimo l’impatto sul traffico autostradale e cittadino. La durata effettiva dei lavori si è infine limitata, escluso lo stop dovuto all’emergenza COVID, a 131 giornate: un modello di efficienza da parte delle figure coinvolte.

The project for the construction of the Pedestrian and Cycle Path overpass on the A4 Milan-Venice highway was born with the aim to reconnect, through a protected path for both pedestrians and cyclists, the city centre to the southern area of the province.
Nowadays the Pedestrian and Cycle Path emerges as a single span metal artifact, with a light of 54 metres and a total weight of 70,000 Kilograms, thus allowing the complete overcoming of the 2 lanes of the A4 highway without any central support.
The project, which was submitted in the Spring of 2018 and subsequently approved by Società Autostrade, was born as a strategic operation to connect viability and it is defined by a reticular metal structure in steel which is supported by pilings made by paving along the existing traffic bridge.
 
Taking inspiration from the wine-growing areas of Franciacorta, the sheet metal paneling thus become a sort of hymn to the typical wines of the province of Brescia, depicting the stylised graphic of no less than 2,366 bubbles in the effects of lights and shadows along the different hours of the day.
In fact, if the sun creates the movement perceived during the walking on the path during daytime, at night the show is reserved to the drivers going along the A4. Thanks to the presence of led lighting with changing light intensity towards the central area of the artifact, they can perceive the drawing created by the empty spaces in the metal sheet.
 
 Besides, the light colour of the painting and the simplicity of the structure allow the visual impact to be minimized, leaving the way to the slenderness of the single span, which is characterized by the drawing of the hole cladding.
 
The launching of the span occurred on the night of 21 April, thus minimizing the impact on the highway and city traffic. The works lasted 131 days – Covid Emergency Stop excluded – a model of efficiency of the involved working parterns.
