Bamboo is the world's most carbon-absorbing plant, which means it is very environmentally friendly, in fact is considered by UN a naturally based solution for Climate Change mitigation. Therefore, the use of this material in is natural features in a building is an important decision to contribute to make a better world, with less negative impact to the Environment and create a healthy and friendly Architecture, which becomes the connection between Man and Nature. For us Bamboo integrates the values of Ecology , Community , Nutrition and Beauty.

Our starting idea is a contemporary interpretation of the traditional concept of “a Pavilion in the Garden” by fusing the Pavilion into the Garden, creating one single element: Garden-Pavilion, where architecture, gardening and landscape melt into each other. Furthermore the structure which detaches the garden soil from the ground is made of natural round pole bamboo, 32-meter span arches, a perfect product of Nature pushed to it’s best performance.

Inside INBAR Garden Pavilion people can directly feel the natural light inside the exhibition space, and the natural light shines through the bamboo weaving to the interior. The ceiling is made of handmade bamboo weaving, a traditional Chinese handicrafts application to large-scale buildings. Therefore, this provides a familiar and welcoming environment for local people. Interiors and decoration are made of Bamboo and Rattan.

The INBAR Garden Pavilion design's sustainable strategy is not based only on the use of its tangible materials (bamboo, soil, plants, bamboo plants, water, pebbles) but also through the use of intangible materials such as natural light, natural ventilation and acoustic control. Bamboo Eye has no air conditioning, together with the limited use of artificial light, we achieved a minimum of non-renewal energy consumption.
