In the center of the city, at the foot of Palazzo Farnese... once, a kitchen for the master workers of Palazzo. The property, dug into the tuff rock on which the city rests, is half underground: little light, so much silence and an important view that led Romeo to fall in love with this space.

Romeo then changes life, job, habits, and so does the space around him. No longer a house, but an office. A "family" office ... warm and formal at the same time.

No more traditional elements for the subdivision of the space, but volumes and containers at the same time, that delineate rooms and functions. Two large furniture units cut the plant along, separating private and confidential environments from common and service areas. The spaces are free, no accessory elements if not the bare minimum for offices: desks, chairs, meeting table ... folders and all the stationery inside the large furniture units.

The white walls tell the original layout in stark contrast to the black of the furniture. The central element, continuous and opaque, shields the few light sources, but at the same time it manages to illuminate the waiting room through brass slits with natural light shaped and amplified for a scenic entry effect.

In the rest of the details there is the will to provide rooms with all the comforts necessary for a continuous working activity without hiding the warmth of that old space ... a synthesis between the essential and the romantic that finds in the minimalism a tale of past, present and future life.

Nel centro della città, ai piedi del Palazzo Farnese… un tempo cucina per le maestranze che lavoravano al Palazzo. L’immobile scavato nel masso tufaceo su cui poggia la città è per metà sotto terra, poca luce, tanto silenzio ed un affaccio importate che ha portato Romeo ad innamorarsi di questo spazio.

Romeo poi cambia vita, cambia lavoro, cambia abitudini, cambia così anche lo spazio intorno a lui. Non più un’abitazione ma un ufficio. Un ufficio di “famiglia”… caldo e formale ad un tempo.

Non più elementi di ripartizione tradizionali ma volumi contenitori che delineano spazi e funzioni.

Due grandi mobili tagliano per lungo la pianta, separando ambienti privati e confidenziali da quelli comuni e di servizio. Gli spazi sono liberi, niente elementi accessori se non il minimo indispensabile per degli uffici: scrivanie, sedie, tavolo riunioni… cartelline, faldoni e tutta la cancelleria dentro i grandi mobili contenitori.

Le pareti bianche raccontano l’impianto originale in netto contrasto con il nero della mobilia. L’elemento centrale, continuo ed opaco, pur schermando le poche fonti luminose riesce comunque ad illuminare la sala d’attesa attraverso feritoie d’ottone con luce si naturale ma plasmata e amplificata per uno scenico effetto d’entrata.

Nel resto dei dettagli c’è la volontà di fornire agli ambienti tutti i confort necessari ad una continua attività lavorativa senza però nascondere ila calore di quel vecchio spazio… una sintesi tra l’essenziale ed il romantico che trova nel minimalismo un racconto di vita passata, presente e futura.
