Eleganza Sobria: il design abbraccia la luce Milan / Italy / 2024
The renovation revolutionised the original distribution of the rooms, enlarging them, opening up
new perspectives and creating new living spaces. Each room has been projected to guarantee
each member of the family their own private space, while at the same time offering the possibilit
y of enjoying moments of conviviality without getting in the way, thanks to made to measure solutions such as the large windows separating the kitchen from the living room.
The living area, dominated by a neutral palette, is enriched by a large light grey
sofa inviting relaxation and an elegant herringbone oak parquet floor. The latter adds visual warmth and contrasts pleasantly with the clean lines of the Scandinavian style furniture, giving the room a cosy and refined atmosphere.
A modern bookcase wall both functional and decorative, displays books and objects personalising the room without weighing it down. The large, custom
made opening partitions in glass and white wood ensure visual continuity between the various areas of the house from the music room to the living room, from the dining corner to the kitchen
defining specific spaces that respect privacy. These partitions allow splendid natural light to filter through and create a harmonious dialogue between the inter
ior and the green exterior, the inspiration for the colour palette of the octagonal tiles in the kitchen, arranged in a playful and familiar pattern.
The lighting has been carefully designed, alternating between recessed spotlights flush with the
ceiling and wall luminaires in Le Corbusier's timeless design, adding a touch of discreet
modernity. Ergonomic seating and minimalist solid wood tables contribute to a light and
functional aesthetic.
The original plasterwork on the ceilings was restored by an ex
pert decorator and then reused
throughout the house at the owner's request. Integrated with French style woodwork, they add a
touch of sophistication while maintaining a minimalist and refined aesthetic.
Both the master and guest bathrooms have been meticulously designed to ensure comfort and elegance
