2BW House | Paolo Cossu Architects
London / United Kingdom / 2019
2BW is a four storey town house located on the banks of London’s Regents Canal. This is the third house completed by PCA on the same Terrace.
The project is based on the client’s need to store and display his extensive and eclectic art collection in a space that did not have to resemble a commercial art gallery space.
A restrained and warm palette of materials, solid oak, brass and Fenix, characterise the interior of the house creating a neutral canvas for the artworks to be displayed.
The space is flooded by natural light coming from openings situated above the exposed timber structure creating a strong and ever changing pattern of shadows.
A lacquered volume, designed to display sculptures, hides the entrance to a shower room fully clad in Terrazzo.
The custom designed kitchen which is completely made in Fenix, will also be used to display and store different types of artwork.
The lighting design has been developed by Kreon in Belgium.
