The modern residential complex Glitne was built on the roof of the Utopia gallery in the Forsete block in the center of Umea, Sweden. The unique design of the building was realized with BEMO-MONRO standing seam profiles.
With a view of the town hall, the river and the city, the building hovers over the existing block. Custom-made BEMO-MONRO standing seam profiles were used for the curved shape. BEMO plug-in panels and BEMO-BOND composite panels were also used. All profiles and edging parts have the same matt black color that was mixed especially for the building. Accents are set by golden window frames and balcony partitions with golden "lace".
The project was realized by Balticgruppen. The extraordinary architecture comes from the award-winning architecture firm BIG.
