Agostini Museum

"Motorcycles were born in a workshop and therefore we conceived the contents of the Museum, of mechanics and not, enclosed as if it were in a Cartier box." Thus Giacomo Agostini, who inaugurated his personal Museum in Bergamo in December 2019, explains how the structural idea of this Trophy Hall was designed together with Studio Giavarini. Planium Srl has contributed to the realization of this historic place by making three particular structural ideas concrete: the floor, the false ceiling and the word AGO, nom de guerre of the most successful rider of all time.

"Steel" - says Architect Giavarini, "is extremely versatile. As you can see by observing the room, it has been used in numerous ways and covers practically all visible surfaces. ”Stainless Concrete, the Planium finish chosen for the floor, was laid using the MG01 Magnetic system; this steel is characterized by a particular texture that refers color to the cement, from which it takes its name.

The design core of the whole lies in the evocation of an "industrial style", that recalls the motorcycle environment, and therefore with the floor in the same way this process was followed with regard to the choice of the false ceiling, made by Planium with the use of perforated sheet for aesthetic purposes. "The idea", continues architect Giavarini, "was to make a formal and rigorous trophy hall coexist with an environment that recalled the world of racing of the past, similar to a workshop, where interventions on motorcycles they were much more direct than today, after the arrival of electronics. "

The walls of the exhibition hall are characterized by the equipped boiseries that cover the entire perimeter of the museum, created always after a drawing by Studio Giavarini in collaboration with Falegnameria F.lli Gotti. The Planium design area was responsible for creating the aesthetic finish and reinforcement brackets, while Falegnameria has created the internal core of the panels. The galvanized steel paneling has been shaped, cut and folded so as to create a sort of "sandwich" with the core and the brackets and then liquid red painted.

Regarding the word AGO, placed in the center of the Trophy Hall, it is made up of aluminum letters, 10 mm thick, cut with bent laser fiber and then liquid painted to obtain a bright red color, which matches the chromatic details of the bikes in the museum and the wall paneling.

“Le moto nascevano in un’officina e pertanto abbiamo ideato il contenuto del Museo, di meccanica e non, racchiuso come fosse in una scatola di Cartier.” Così Giacomo Agostini, che ha inaugurato nel dicembre del 2019 il suo personale Museo a Bergamo, spiega come è stata concepita l’idea strutturale della sua Sala dei Trofei insieme allo Studio Giavarini - Architettura e Design. 

“Il metallo” - dice l’Architetto Giavarini, “è estremamente versatile. Come si può notare osservando la sala, è stato utilizzato in numerosi modi e riveste praticamente tutte le superfici visibili.” Cemento Inossidabile, la finitura Planium scelta per il pavimento, è stata posata attraverso il sistema magnetico MG01; questo acciaio è caratterizzato da una particolare texture che rimanda cromaticamente al cemento, da cui trae il suo nome.
Il cuore progettuale dell’insieme risiede nell’evocazione di uno “stile industriale” che richiami l’ambiente motociclistico, e dunque col pavimento allo stesso modo è stato seguito questo iter per quanto riguarda la scelta del controsoffitto, realizzato da Planium con l’uso della lamiera forata per fini estetici. “L’idea”, prosegue infatti l’Architetto Giavarini, “è stata quella di far convivere una sala trofei formale e rigorosa con un ambiente che richiamasse il mondo delle corse di un tempo, simile a un’officina, dove gli interventi sulle moto erano molto più diretti di oggi, dopo l’arrivo dell’elettronica.”

Le pareti della sala espositiva sono caratterizzate dalle boiserie attrezzate che rivestono tutto il perimetro del museo realizzate, sempre su disegno dello Studio Giavarini, in collaborazione con la Falegnameria F.lli Gotti. L’area progettazione Planium si è occupata di creare la finitura estetica e delle staffe di rinforzo, mentre la Falegnameria ha realizzato l'anima interna dei pannelli. Le boiserie in acciaio zincato sono state sagomate, tagliate e piegate in modo tale da creare una sorta di sandwich con l'anima e le staffe e in seguito verniciate a liquido colore rosso.
Per quanto riguarda la scritta "AGO", posta al centro della Sala dei Trofei, è formata da lettere in alluminio, dello spessore di 10 mm, tagliate con laser fibra, piegate e verniciate poi a liquido per ottenere un colore rosso vivo che si sposa con i dettagli cromatici delle moto presenti nel Museo e le boiserie a parete.
