Tutors: Alexandros Kallegias, Elif Erdine, Daghan Cam Team: Myrto Barbaris, Anastasia Patsiou, Paris Tsernos The aim of this workshop was the design of an adaptive urban installation. The proposed installation adapts on a global scale to external environmental conditions - wind directionality and temperature - as well as on a local scale to the proximity of the pedestrians. It consists of walls with multiple horizontal thin metal strips which bend in order for a bench to be created when a user approaches. Moreover, the overall structure itself rotates either in parallel or vertically to the wind direction. Thus, it either provides shelter from the cool wind in low temperatures or let the wind flow to freshen the users in high temperatures accordingly. The intallation generates a new space of activity and rest.
