The K12 school, located in Chandigarh is spread over 4.6 acres of suburban land. “Learning through Spatial Experiences” has been the guiding design principle for the school. The building blocks along with a simple circulation plan helps create several courts of variable spatial quality in the campus. These courts are well shaded due to the carefully placed building orientations. Such variety of open spaces encourages spontaneous activities and collaboration for the school children. The architecture design of the school with sporadic use of vibrant and colorful geometry makes learning fun and engaging apart from formal teaching. The school design also incorporates the core principles of climate responsive architecture, sustainability and maintenance free strategies. The architectural vocabulary of the school is an attempt to make the school a fun space to learn and yet provide an institutional feel.
