Urban Infill | CHYBIK + KRISTOF
Lofts Project Brno / Czech Rep. / 2019
Situated in an area that is undergoing rapid regeneration, this urban infill project is designed to accentuate the city’s existing urban structures. According to local architectural tradition, corner buildings such as this one are defined by their verticality as well as decorative elements that serve to help with orientation.
Similarly, our design embraces a strong orientational presence with a neon light installation as artwork for the façade. The building functions are divided between top and bottom: commercial spaces take up the ground floor while residential units are housed above. Each of the flats is uniquely defined by its respective view onto the city.
Team: Ondrej Chybik, Michal Kristof, Ondrej Mundl, Martin Holy, Matej Strba, Victor Cojocaru
