Together We Rise Austin HQ2 | Cushing Terrell

Cushing Terrell has been selected to lead design efforts for the Austin HQ2 of Together We Rise, a nonprofit organization with current headquarters in California, as they bring their mission to improve the lives of children in foster care to Central Texas.

The organization will occupy a warehouse in East Austin, with plans to design a space that will be “the best place to volunteer in Austin.” Together, Cushing Terrell and TWR envision transforming a warehouse into a space that facilitates human connections and inspires passionate interaction with a 6,000-square-foot open and vibrant indoor space, outdoor event areas, a mural wall for street art, and a home for pet alpacas that will roam the landscape.

The TWR volunteer space will double as a gathering place, inviting the community to come together to build bikes and skateboards, design duffle bags and superhero boxes, all to benefit deserving children navigating the foster care system.

TWR ATX is scheduled to open in early 2020. Representing more than just a creative reuse of a warehouse, the space will be at the center of hundreds of events that will host visitors from all walks of the Austin community; industry leaders, humanitarians, advocates, artists and visionaries committed to changing the world for the better by helping to transform the lives of children in foster care.

About Together We Rise:
Together We Rise is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization comprised of motivated young adults and former foster youth. Our vision is to improve the lives of children in foster care, who often find themselves forgotten and neglected by the public. We collaborate with individuals, companies, and community partners to bring resources to foster youth and use and use service-learning activities to educate volunteers on issues surrounding the foster care system. TWR works with hundreds of foster agencies, social workers, CASA advocates, and other partners to bring our programs to foster youth across the nation.
