Bondi Apartment | Daniel Boddam
Bondi Beach / Australia / 2016
The design reinterprets coastal living through modern design, creating a sophisticated environment that feels like a holiday at home.
The apartment has been elegantly transformed to feel spacious and relaxed through personal touches, considered furniture and a minimal material and colour palette.
Unconventional materials have been used in striking ways in the wet areas. Rendered concrete, which has a modern and organic quality, is used for the bathroom and kitchen walls instead of tiles. The joinery consists of simple horizontal planes of oak with bespoke leather handles. The benchtops have been detailed to appear more robust in Carrara marble slabs, complementing the concrete walls. Flooring in limed oak and hand glazed Moroccan tiles create a holiday feel.
