KR_V project 2017

A goal of this particular project was moderation and elegance. The important thing for us, as always, was to keep the timeless feeling and avoid the stylistic clichés. The emphasis was made on the form and volumes along with naturalness of the materials. The architectural component, proportion and surfaces are ultimate.

Basing on previous agenda and configuration we intended to unite different zones to keep the air not limiting the natural lighting with extra dividers. Planning solution was developed on a clear desire to separate private and public zones in the apartment. The public space is formed around two boxes, the first one hides the guest bathroom and hallway closet intentionally with no solid walls, only lamwood panels. The second box is built up around the pile in the middle and creates the circular movement thanks to the two mobile dividers that cut out the private zone when closed.

The ceiling solution is worth mentioning. It was preconditioned by the space itself and the functionality. The ceiling slabs have 40cm difference in level, the living-room part of it also includes the storm drain which was a surprise for us. The ceiling solution in the living room was finished with perforated panels that hide the air vent and conditioning system. This ceiling element run on inside the apartment also working as a zone merger.
