What would the Mies Van der Rohe Pavilion look like if you could turn it into a workplace?

This was the question of the competition PAVILION WORKPLACE organized by Fundació Mies van Der Rohe and Adeyaka bcn and sponsored by USM Modular Furniture in collaboration with Herman Miller and Tecno.

Our proposal is based on the respect for the basic elements of the original design: the transparency, the permeability of spaces, the play, clever, of delimiting without closing, the simplicity.

We limited ourselves to introducing elements that are predominantly transparent or permeable to the view, made with USM elements, which allow us to delimit the most private spaces (offices and conference room) and define them within the space that MIES had delimited with a carpet. The rest of the space is totally open and the uses are defined by the proposed furniture, selected among the brands sponsor of the contest.

Our coworking proposal includes a reception, an open space with 8 work stations, 3 private offices, 2 conference rooms for 4 and 8 people, 7 individual work stations, 2 areas for informal meetings and 1 cafeteria.
