Parque Central Apartments | Hernández Arquitectos

The building is a classic construction of the "Eixample" located on Buenos Aires street in the city of Valencia, Spain. It was built in 1934, and after years of neglect and deterioration, it has been restored to its original aspect that the passage of time and the lack of maintenance had made it lose.

 It houses 18 apartments of different types that welcome visitors in an atmosphere of absolute comfort, combined with an aesthetic that transports you to the Valencia of the early 20th century.

 We access the hall through its great original door reinterpreted in glass, this is a clear sign of the intention that has marked the intervention: preserve the original style combining it with current elements, thus creating a character that lives perfectly with the spirit of the neighborhood.

 An interior courtyard is the central axis that connects the two parts of the building, in addition to providing natural light to the interior apartments, it becomes a common rest area, giving life to the internal part of the building.

 The interior of the apartments emphasizes the harmony between the modern and comfortable furniture and the original decorative elements that have been recovered and maintain that connection with the past. The mosaic floors remind of the original distribution of the houses and the ceilings, of a considerable height, still conserve the finials or moldings of yesteryear. The windows and canopies have also been recovered, which, seen from the outside, confirm that link of the building with the style of the neighborhood.

 Neutral colors, sobriety in the decorative elements and in the furniture, use of the spaces with a clear adaptation to the pre-existing style are the characteristics that can define the recovery project carried out.

 The intervention has tried to merge styles and times, that has turned this apartment building into a privileged place within this emblematic Valencian neighborhood.
