The project begins with the need to transform the roof of a five-star hotel into a space that could function as an entertainment area for its guests, and thus provide them with a space where they can clear their mind, relax, have fun and socialize.

Located on the roof of a twelve-story building, it has a privileged view of the most exclusive area of the city of Puebla and the Popocatépetl volcano, this being the most important factor to consider when starting the design process. As a basis for the project we had a world class hotel in which we sought to project an executive bar with incredible views, with materials and shapes that alludes to the most representative textures of the region.
From its entrance on the twelfth floor, the change of atmosphere is perceived through the play of lights that are transformed through the shapes and textures found in the access stairs, in its walls and sky.

The Sky Bar is discovered through the space with a roof and glass walls that protect the user from the punctual rain that falls every afternoon in Puebla without losing the perception of being in an outdoor space.

The balance of the warm colors of its lattices, soffits and columns creates a cozy and memorable space. The use of onyx, iconic material of the region, with which its tables and bar were manufactured, allow the permeability of architectural light creating versatile sensations in the same space.

As a visual finishing touch, a sculpture was placed that was shaped by nature, a dry tree that is representative of the place and that can be seen from the streets near the building.
The project has details in each of its spaces, designed with versatility and balance between contemporary style and regional materials such as; the talavera and the bricks. These were placed diagonally, projected in their lattices and panels, which accompanied by indirect lighting provide, depending on the occasion, a dynamic space.

Being a bar with the intention of having flexibility of functions according to the occasion, lighting plays a very important role, that is why the onyx stone was chosen to make one of the most important elements of the place, the main bar, which illuminated from within, manages to highlight its translucent properties which provide a dim, warm and elegant lighting that manages to give life to the place.

In addition to the spaces designed for the users, there are also service areas adapted with the best equipment, requested by the hotel chef, to work and create hors d'oeuvres and cocktails of local dishes of the city that characterize the Serrano Skybar. Intentionally on each side of the bar, within the area provided to the baristas, there are two steel furniture with small pots of black clay, designed by the Mexican artist David Pompa, which contain fine herbs that are used in the preparation of cocktails and drinks, this with the intention of creating a space that achieves multiple functions for the staff and at the same time is a visual attraction for visitors.
Along with the philosophy of who manages the hotel, which aims to provide the best service to its guests, the design of this place was made, which manages to escape the stress of daily life and does not leave aside the identity of the hotel. place and its culture, we firmly believe that the time and spirit of the place must be respected in each design to show whoever visits us from another part of the world this work that now represents us.
