La Voûte Accordéon | Atelier YokYok

The Accordion Arch is an experimental project about modular structures. It was lead by Atelier YokYok with students from the Superior Art & Design School from Orléans (France ESAD Orléans). The Accordion Arch is visible at the ESAD Orléans until April 19 2019 as part of the Festival Inopiné.

The project is part of a research program on modular structures with the ESAD Orléans School. This experimental project is intented to be built in the Château de Chambord’s stables in France. A first week of workshop for design was lead during January 2019 with students of the ESAD. A second workshop phase dedicated to the construction occured at the beginning of April 2019 for the setting up of the first Accordion Arch prototype at scale 1.

La Voûte Accordéon est un projet expérimental de structure modulaire. Il est mené par Atelier YokYok avec des étudiants de l’Ecole Supérieure d’Art et de Design d’Orléans (ESAD Orléans). La Voûte Accordéon est visible à l’ESAD Orléans jusqu’au 19 Avril 2019 dans le cadre du Festival Inopiné. Le projet s’inscrit dans le cadre d’une recherche sur les structures modulaires menée avec l’ESAD Orléans pour un projet expérimental destiné à être construit dans les écuries du Château de Chambord. Une première semaine de conception en workshop a été menée au mois de Janvier avec une vingtaine d’étudiants. Une seconde semaine de construction également en workshop a eu lieu début Avril 2019 pour la mise en place de la première Voûte Accordéon à l’échelle 1.
