Two parallelepipeds lie parallel within a clearing, surrounded by the forest, far
from the city, near the coast of the sea. Occupy a space that by nature does
not belong to them. They impose themselves in the context with an arrogance
typical of reinforced concrete architectures.
They do not seek a simple, banal dialogue, based on the already known
material cliches typical of buildings isolated in nature.
The relationship they want to establish with the surrounding context is dictated
by more abstract rules, based on lines, axes, directionality and privileged
points of view.
Even the form, the elementary geometric linearity of the two blocks hides a
deeper reasoning: the monotony of their surfaces is marked by grooves and
milling, typical signs of woodworking. It is as if the openings for the entrance of
the light were made by an imaginary cutter or chisel.​
Rigid simplicity has also been the guideline in the choice of coatings,
essentially based on the contrast between two opposite but complementary
materials: in fact, if the interiors are distinguished by the artificial / natural
relationship of the cement resin with the oak, the exteriors are characterized
by the light / heavy dualism materialized in the contrast between concrete,
treated with a formwork finish, and microperforated oxidized copper, which
shields the openings in the "grooves" of the cement, emerging exclusively in
the lining of the suspended walkway joining the two blocks.
Probably the most appropriate interpretation to understand this architecture is
dualism. We leave to the observer the task of identifying these relations of
opposition, providing some clues:
light heavy
natural / artificial
flexible / rigid
full empty
public / private
old / new

Due parallelepipedi giacciono paralleli all'interno di una radura, circondati dal bosco, lontani dalla
città, vicini alla costa del mare. Occupano prepotentemente uno spazio che per natura non gli
appartiene. Si impongono nel contesto con un'arroganza tipica delle architetture in cemento armato.
Non cercano un dialogo semplice, banale, basato sui già noti clichè materici delle costruzioni isolate
nella natura.
Il rapporto che vogliono instaurare con il contesto circostante è dettato da regole decisamente più
astratte, fondate su linee, assi, direzionalità e punti di vista privilegiati.
Anche dal punto di vista formale l'elementare linearità geometrica dei due blocchi cela un
ragionamento più profondo: la monotonia delle loro superfici è segnata da solchi e fresature, segni
tipici delle lavorazioni del legno. È come se le aperture per l'ingresso della luce fossero state
realizzate da una fresa o da uno scalpello immaginari.
Una rigida semplicità è stata la linea guida anche nella scelta dei rivestimenti, fondata
essenzialmente nella contrapposizione tra due materiali opposti ma complementari: infatti, se gli
interni si distinguono per il rapporto artificiale/naturale della resina cementizia con il legno di
rovere, gli esterni sono caratterizzati dal dualismo leggero/pesante materializzato nel contrasto tra
cemento, trattato con una finitura da cassaforma, e rame ossidato microforato, che fa da
schermatura alle aperture nei “solchi” del cemento, emergendo esclusivamente nel rivestimento del
camminamento sospeso che unisce i due blocchi.
Probabilmente la chiave di lettura più adatta per comprendere questa architettura è proprio il
dualismo. Lasciamo all'osservatore il compito di individuare tali rapporti di contrapposizione,
fornendo qualche indizio:
