Within the wood, glass and concrete context of the new Chophouse Row market on Capitol Hill, we created a minimal backdrop for the exquisitely curated objects of the urban garden boutique, “Niche Outside”. Within only 250 square feet, the design was carefully considered to maximize the display of merchandise with built-in areas for gift wrapping and point-of-sale transactions. Elements like the rectangular shelving modules, expansive perimeter countertop, central table with pull-out bench and a gridded peg wall are all examples of how function was maximized while appearing minimally simple.
