The duplex accommodation occupies the fourth and fifth floors, both terraced, in a newly built building. The planimetric setting on different levels has stimulated the development of the idea of up / down, translated into a functional contrast between floors: day area for the lower one, sleeping area for the upper one.
The extended surface of the two terraces was instead a pretext for the realization of the inside / outside concept. Using specific finishes and furnishing components, the living room has been pushed to the outside. This integration with the terrace area creates, to all intents and purposes, a living area, whose conceptual and concrete boundaries extend far beyond their wall limits. At the second level, the whole procedure is reversed. The exterior appropriates the interior space of the master bedroom, leaving the sign of its intrusion on a wall entirely covered with wood. This completes the overall operation of bringing “the inside outside” and “the outside inside”.
