WINDLICHT
WINDLICHT shows the beauty of green wind energy by connecting windmill blades with light, creating a play of dancing lines.

For Roosegaarde, windmills are a perfect example of Dutch innovation. Inspired by Kinderdijk (the traditional Dutch windmills from 1740), Roosegaarde wants to reconnect the new windmills of today with our landscape whilst celebrating the beauty of green energy.

Special developed software and tracking technology detect the windmill blades rotating at 280 km per hour and connect the blades with LED light. Visitors could tune into radio channel WINDLICHT 105.3 FM to hear the stories behind the artwork. WINDLICHT’s dancing lines of light attracted large number of audiences to look and mesmerise.
