MARBLES
MARBLES are large glowing shapes of light which interact with human touch. By changing in color and sound, MARBLES transform public space into an interactive landscape of play and enhance social interactions.
Each piece of MARBLES contains LEDs and smart sensors that instinctively respond to human touch, changing their mood from 'bored' to 'excited'. MARBLES are also able to continue these interactions between themselves, communicating with each other.
Specifications:
2012-2022. Large, very strong moulded shapes in a waterproof casing fitted with LEDs, sensor technology, and sound speakers. Uses only 15 watts. Permanent in the City of Almere NL. Also available for exhibitions.
Clients:
Permanent public artwork commissioned by Ymere at the C. van Eesterenplein in Almere, NL. International public space exhibitions in London, Rotterdam and Mori Art Tokyo.
