“The project has been conceived as a sort of contemporary Ark where all the species representing the quality of Italian design can be preserved and brought to life. This will take place through the construction of a design ‘landscape’ with a wealth of views to be explored and investigated, which can be implemented and altered over time,” explain Ico Migliore, Mara Servetto and Italo Lupi, who are once again combining their talent and drive in this new design.
The polyphonic space is constructed around the visitors, who will be able to enter into dialogue with the museum and carry out individual and collective actions, such as touching, seeking out and listening, thereby defining different paths that vary with each visit. “We talk about it as a narrative museum because the space must transmit a story, turning visitors into active protagonists. The planner is therefore no longer called on to design exhibition structures but rather relationships: between the space and the objects, between the objects and people, between people and the story” say Ico Migliore and Mara Servetto who have been designing museum spaces based on the concept of the narrative museum for long time. Emphasis is thus placed on action rather passive observation, developing different levels and time-frames of interpretation, and taking advantage of innovative use of multi-media technology to create an engaging extension of the historical reality.

The ADI Design Museum will thus function as a “narrative museum”. Arcadi will act as a veritable "theatre of design” where the preservation of works is transformed into a narration, offering an experience as formative as it is emotional.
