Il ponte ciclopedonale si trova nel parco fluviale del Nera, in Valnerina, un contesto storico-culturale e naturale di pregio, un unicum che si sviluppa lungo la Via di Francesco. Il ponte, un struttura molto leggera rivestita in corten, collega i due borghi di Ferentillo, Precetto a Matterella, per anni divisi dal fiume Nera e ora dalla Strada Valnerina. La forma, i materiali e i colori, sono stati scelti dopo un'attenta analisi del contesto. La geometria dell'infrastruttura ricorda i volumi delle rocche e delle mura che si trovano poco lontane, così come la forma della terrazza intermedia. Il corten richiama i cromatismi della vallata, e racconta anche l'evoluzione di questi luoghi nel tempo, infatti è un materiale che si evolve al variare delle stagioni e delle condizioni climatiche.

The cycle and pedestrian bridge was built inside the Nera River Park, a natural context of particular landscape and cultural historical value, as it is located on one of the most significant stretches of the Via di Francesco. A light structure in corten that connects the two historic villages of Ferentillo, Precetto and Matterella, for years divided by the river Nera and then also by the road “Valnerina”. The choice of the shape, the materials and the colors was made paying particular attention to the context, in fact the planimetric shape of the bridge recalls the course of the walls of the fortresses, as well as the panoramic terrace that proposes the volume of the sighting towers. The corten is linked to the study of the valley’s chromatism and to the fact that this material takes on its final color over time, depending on the environmental context in which it is placed.
