Slide Sink

Slide Sink explores the boundaries between furniture, sculpture and everyday movement.
The bathroom for which it was designed for, was restricted in depth but not in width. Since regular drawers were impossible to fit, those parameters became a tool for innovation by introducing a different and surprising way to open the sink.
There is a hidden vertical back steel spine that works as the sink's structure and as a sliding mechanism for the drawers. The drawers slide sideways, seemingly deconstructing the cubic monolithic shape while challenging the way we use a sink and a drawer.
The sink's skeleton is aluminum and cladded externally in stone and internally in bronze. The bronze is oxidized with an application of opaque anti-scratch varnish, giving to it an aged feel.
