The project needed the design for a studio-house, divided in different areas: working space, meeting and dining room, and private living area. We wanted to keep the spirit of the neighbourghood of Ruzafa, in the heart of Valencia, as well as bringing a fresh innovative design concept where we could develop our new projects.
The design process started with a main goal: enhancement of the materials throught its reinterpretation.
The original distribution had three separated areas, connected by interior patios, which were the same number of spaces needed for the new building. These rooms are strongly connected by using the same materials and design guidelines.
There were four main materials: concrete, wood, galvanized steel and polycarbonate, all of them combined in an experimental process of their shapes and uses.
