CURVED NARRATIVE ELEMENTS FOR A NEW DIALECTIC OF SPACE
The charm and impact of glass is combined with the skilful use of aluminium for the perimeter of this building's physical space. At this site, Palazzo Mola rationalises an integration of volumes and a masterful use of the symmetry of each façade of the square layout thanks to the vaulted structures.

With architect Gianni Rigo, Linea Light Group interprets a different use of lighting design for a massive visual impact of the building that then became the Gruppo Unica headquarters. Already impressive in and of themselves, the vaulted lines that characterise the façade are highlighted non so much by spotlights, a common choice in this type of product positioning, as by linear lighting. So, Archiline is used to give shape and three-dimensionality to the architecture volumes, supported in this role by Alcor, which defines a grazing light thanks to the outside grating. The stairs, also outside, are illuminated by Quara, a very particular flush mounted marker sconce, almost a lighting play carved into an aluminium body. Installed close to the floor, it projects a touch of round light into the space below and decorates with class and taste. Perfect for revealing the shapes of a stairway in the dark in a suggestive but discrete way. The end result in setting up this type of outdoor lighting was to enhance the splay of the structures and emphasise the concave volume. The inside, on the other hand, was conceived for the purpose of being more functional and as unintrusive as possible. To light the offices, the hallways and the common areas, hidden luminous profiles and downlights were chosen. Only on the top floor under the glass curved vaulting, are there hanging Tour units with different diameters, as a minimal decorative touch in a family feeling with the overall design approach.
