Design intent of Mocha was to be relaxing around the corner cafe which is there forever and becomes a part of everyday life. The slap happy space had the challenge of being in the center of honking busy roads which led to the decision of changing the architecture and using the lower ground level.

The design intent - Make it simple- cut all the frills and enjoy your food and time that you spend here, thus rendering the user to be the focus of the design and the interior to be the background wherein the space is insouciant without being brusque.

There is a subtle flow of space- entering from the busy road into the landscaped walkway peeking into the restaurant as you move along the glass facade on one side and the greens on the other. The main area greets you as a balcony which overlooks the lower level through the indoor garden. As you move along the staircase to the basement you enter the double height space which looks more like a courtyard garden where you can enjoy watching your favorite movie on the projector. Through this double height space, you walk towards a very cozy looking lounge which also hosts live music and drama performance. 

So, one moves along having an experience of walking from a busy street to varied levels of comfort and ease to pick the place one likes the most to eat and enjoy.
