Exceeding fashion expectations for more than 100 years, the luxury firm Nordstrom relies on technical porcelain tiles in the opening of its new shopping centres in San Diego and Santa Monica (California).

Now one of North America’s most prestigious fashion chains, Nordstrom continues to expand its network of stores with more than 370 malls in 40 different states.

The architecture and design studio CallisonRTKL has been in charge of designing both buildings under the same prerogatives. Constructions in which the style and elegance of this prestigious firm have been expressed through the use of the most advanced products and constructive solutions of PORCELANOSA Grupo.

One of the models used on these stunning façades was URBATEK’s MORSE White porcelain tile: a coloured micro-cement ideal for installation on façades due to its low water absorption. A special production was made so that the material would be integrated with the horizontal lines defined for the structure, generating a sensation of serenity, stability and linearity.

Thermal insulation and strong resistance to the passage of time are some of the advantages that led to choosing Butech‘s ventilated façade system. In order to achieve an elegant appearance, those responsible for the project opted for the combination of a hidden clamp system that fixes each of the pieces of this ventilated façade.

The softness of the colours of the materials, in beige tones, is integrated with the metals used for the firm’s signs and many other elements of the façade, thus reinforcing the firm’s own exclusivity and prestige.
