Poland as a key breeding ground for migratory birds.

The richness of wildlife, diversity of landscape and the strategic location in the center of Europe make Poland the most important breeding ground for European migratory birds. Inviting visitors to accompany this journey and observe the abundance of Polish avifauna is an opportunity to develop an intriguing, multi-layered story about the beauty of Polish nature, international exchange, mobility, export of ideas and technologies.

Migratory birds are a common thread in the culture and folklore of many nations. Storks are a symbol of happiness and harmony for Europeans, in Arab culture they are believed to make an annual pilgrimage to Mecca, for the Slavs they are a model of parenthood and family values. 25% of the world's population of white storks nest in Poland, making an extraordinary international intercontinental journey every year, inspiring legends, connecting minds, creating the future.

The architecture of the Polish Pavilion at the world Expo in Dubai creates an open, tree-like modular structure that invites visitors to rest in the shade of an extensive roof, taste Polish bread in an open, welcoming bakery, or contemplate the exhibition integrated with building – a kinetic flock of birds floating over visitors heads. The sculptural form of the pavilion allows the exhibition to escape the building and appear in the public space of the World Expo inviting people to participate in the bird’s flight over Poland.

The pavilion together with and open exhibition inspires reflection on the coexistence of man and nature. It expresses the dynamic development of modern world and emerging Polish economy in the context of global, cultural and commercial exchange, social migration and constant flow of goods and ideas.
