Poland as a key breeding ground for migratory birds

The Pavilion of Poland at Expo 2020 Dubai attracts the attention of tourists with the kinetic sculpture surrounding the building representing the migrating birds. The richness of wildlife, diversity of landscape and the location in the center of Europe make Poland the most important breeding ground for the European migratory birds.

Visitors are invited to accompany this journey and observe the abundance of Polish avifauna which creates an opportunity to develop an intriguing, multi-layered story about the beauty of the Polish nature, and nature-inspired sustainable, modern technologies and ideas to be shared through broad international cooperation. The migratory birds which are symbolized by the kinetic sculpture are very important in the Polish culture, they stand for mobility, change, innovation.

The architecture of the pavilion creates an open, tree-like modular structure that invites visitors to rest in the shade of an extensive roof, and contemplate the exhibition integrated with the building. The pavilion together with the open exhibition inspires reflection on the coexistence of man and nature. It expresses the dynamic development of the modern world and the emerging Polish economy in the context of global, cultural and commercial exchange, social migration and the constant flow of goods and ideas.

The Pavilion of Poland at Expo 2020 Dubai allows visitors to immerse themselves in the experience of Poland through all the senses. The path of the tour consists of sequences of events that interact with visitors and provide them with an intense and multidimensional experience of the closeness to nature, conscious, sustainable life in Poland. The story aims to present Poland as a creative country, aware of the challenges of the modern world, which derives wisdom from nature, manages resources responsibly and understands the role of international cooperation in creating a better future.

The building of the Pavilion of Poland at Expo 2020 Dubai and the exhibition were created by WXCA, an architectural workshop from Poland and the Swiss studio Bellprat Partner.
