The laborers’ hotel (“Ex Albergo Operai”) building has great importance in the historical panorama of Italian industry. The redevelopment project was completed in 2012. The project maintains the original characteristics of the building and the restoration started from the outer walls and the courtyards. The next step concerned the internal distribution of the volume. The original hotel has been transformed into an office building, museum, guesthouse and commercial areas. In addition to the restoration, the project provides a new additional volume on top that hosts the Fincantieri Executive Management. This new design has aimed to give a contemporary image to the building.
