Modern cozy home- Shirley Dan

The father of the family designated the purchased land plot for 2 separate housing units construction, one unit for himself, the other – for his daughter’s family. Shirley Dan, the owner and creative director of “Dan Architect Studio” designed a spacious, full of natural light and clean lines, modern yet family friendly and cozy home.

The two-family residence expands on a 700 sq. m area   and divided into two units – 250 sq. m each. Each unit is a two-storied house with a separate entrance. The clever U shape design provides the feeling of intimacy and privacy for each family. The ground floor consists of the living and dining spaces and a kitchen which is the heart of the house. In the private area there is a comfortable master bedroom with an en-suite bathroom and a walk-in closet. On the upper floor there are two childrens’ rooms - one for a girl and one for a boy.  The girl’s bedroom has an en-suite. There is also a guest room and an additional bathroom on the floor.

The focal point of the house is a patio enclosed by the living area with an olive tree growing in the center. It adds an embracing earthly element into the whole interior and gives a warm feeling of   connection with the nature.
