Dongdaemun Design Plaza, also known as DDP, is probably the biggest urban development landmark in Seoul, South Korea.  Designed by Zaha Hadid and Samoo, its futuristic design is recognized by strong, curves and smooth structures". DDP soon became South Korea's fashion and shopping hub and popular popular hotspot for both locals and tourists, including walkable open roofs, big cultural and exhibition spaces, large retail stores and restored parts of the Seoul fortress.


Construction started in 2009 and it was officially inaugurated on March 21, 2014.
