As principais artérias do centro urbano de Viseu são ornamentadas por tílias que constituem um simbólico património natural e material inequívoco da cidade. Mais do que as flores que se colocam sazonalmente nas rotundas e jardins, são as árvores que percorrem as ruas e os parques que fazem parte do percurso da vida dos habitantes.

As memórias e os cheiros no que se refere ao património natural da cidade estão indelevelmente conectados com a presença das tílias, que nos conduzem ao centro da cidade, como se de uma sinalética monumental se tratasse.

Sob o tema Paradoxo, este projecto de arquitectura efémera pretende ser uma homenagem à tília como símbolo da cidade, através de um estudo dos vários elementos que a constituem e da forma como interagem com o ser humano. A partir dos elementos da tília colhidos na praça do Rossio — a flor, a folha e respectiva estrutura — explora-se uma nova — e renovada — visão deste ser vivo tão simbólico. Do estudo, resultaram três projectos que apresentam três abordagens distintas deste elemento que é um monumento natural de Viseu.

The main arteries of the urban center of Viseu are decorated by linden trees that constitute a symbolic natural heritage and unmistakable material of the city. More than the flowers that are placed seasonally in the roundabouts and gardens, are the trees that cross the streets and the parks that are part of the route of the life of the inhabitants.

Memories and smells of the city's natural heritage are indelibly connected with the presence of the linden trees, which lead us to the center of the city, as if it were a monumental sign.

Under the Paradox theme, this ephemeral architecture project aims to be a tribute to the linden tree as a symbol of the city, through a study of the various elements that constitute it and how it interacts with the human being. From the elements of the linden tree collected in Rossio Square - the flower, the leaf and its structure - a new and renewed vision of this living being is explored as symbolic. From the study, resulted three projects that present three different approaches of this element that is a natural monument of Viseu.
