This is a renovation of house built in about 40 years ago in the northern part of Nara city in Japan. The owner is a couple in their 60s and their son. They liked this house very much and lived for many years, but the interior was dark even in the day, and the things were overflowing because there were few storage rooms. We opened the attic, changed to a bright kitchen and living room, changed the Japanese room according to the rules of the tea ceremony, and made a large storage such as closet, pantry, bookshelf etc. We also improved seismic performance and thermal insulation performance. This house has been changed to a place where the owner can live comfortably over the future. And the owner can love art , antiques, garden, and the house to their heart's content.
