Create a platform / Live in the platform  / Animate the platform

1- PLATFORM

• Existing construction(fortress/old building): the old building, which is not properly integrated with the fortress but has a symbolic value back to the prison phase so the purpose was to integrate this old building in the composition creating an interactive platform that high points this symbolic building and activates the space.

• Nature: The site benefits from a 360º panoramic view where we can regard the Mediterranean Sea, other isles, Favignana village, the ancient port and an adorable nature, so a platform is a good choice to perceive well a such outstanding view.

• Arts: The platform helps artists to expose their works and interact (exterior exhibition). “The fortress and the old building form together a sculpture surrounded by a platform.” Natural Platform/ artistic Platform/ architectural Platform.

2- FORTRESS

It was about the transformation of the existing spaces into (hotel suites, restaurant, workspace and museum) with a minimal impact on the massive superstructure that has a historical value. The museum shows us the important history of this monument and the transformation in each period. Fortress-Prison-Art Prison

3-LANDSCAPE CABINS

For the cabins, it is the extension of the natural land with no heavy impact on the environment. They are accessible from the platform and open to the view without interruption to make the artists benefit from a maximum view with zero disturbance.
