New Victoria Beer Factory in Malaga | GANA Arquitectura

When an amazing brand like Victoria decides to come back to its city, location becomes the first thing to carefully analize in order to achieve the dream of giving back to malaga citizen their traditional beer.

Thus, this factory is located between two of the main roads of the city, as its new entrance milestone, while ensuring a proper industrial functionality and allowing trucks flow in a very easy way. In order to build over the remaining structure of the former factory located there, a sustainable way of working was required, by combining their needs with the existing elements where urban planning and construction security become fundamental.

However, this factory means to Malaga much more than the industrial revitalization described. This building has been an invitation from this local brand to its neighbors, in order to let them be part of its history, its productive activity and logistics, while offering this city a new cultural spot.

That's the reason why the design of its enclosure has been so important and special, creating a solid building whose white facades enhance its industrial soul and structure, and a main front facade completely made of glass that allow the building not just to take advantage of the signature light of this area, called 'Costa del Sol', but also introduce an innovative approach to the traditional and hermetic architecture of factories.

This creates an interesting dialogue between glass-made north facades and opaques elements made of 'in situ' sandwich panels that protect the building from harder solar orientations. A very respectful and sustainable exercise of design that foster functionality and maximize comfort among its users.

A quite complex functionality that contrasts with its volumes simplicity, coordinating different areas and services like the tours guided by the brand through its multifunctional entrance hall; a tasting area; the commercial offices of this new headquarters of 'Cerveza Victoria' in Malaga; the brewery; the filling, beerdrive and packaging area; and also the storage and logistics area, with the whole offices and functions related and required by this warehouse.

As a conclusion, this building homes an accurate relation of visually connected spaces, where light and guests become the main characters of the project.

Nueva Fábrica de Cerveza Victoria en Málaga

Cuando una marca como Victoria decide retornar a su ciudad natal, lo primero que se ha de estudiar cuidadosamente es la ubicación en la que hacer este sueño realidad, poder devolver al ciudadano malagueño su tradicional cerveza.

Por ello, la nueva fábrica proyectada se sitúa en el cruce de dos de las vías de tráfico rodado más importantes de la ciudad, como un nuevo hito que nos marca la entrada a la capital, sin por ello olvidar su actividad meramente industrial al facilitar el acceso y tránsito de camiones y demás vehículos pesados de forma directa. Implantada sobre los cimientos de una antigua nave existente, el proyecto se debate entre el respeto a la estructura original y su adecuación a los requisitos urbanísticos a los que se encontraba afecta.

Sin embargo, esta fábrica simboliza algo mucho más potente que la ya meritoria y evidente reactivación del sector terciario de la ciudad. Este edificio suponía la invitación de una marca a que sus vecinos pudieran participar de toda su historia, de su actividad productiva y logística, así como ofrecer un nuevo espacio cultural a Málaga.

Por todo ello, en materia de diseño, la definición de su envolvente resultaba fundamental, estableciendo un edificio unitario y homogéneo cuya blanca piel presenta un corte industrial capaz de revitalizar los dientes de sierra de la nave original, así como ofrecer una fachada principal entera de vidrio, con la que no sólo acoger la luz tan característica de la Costa del Sol, sino además aportar un enfoque innovador a la hermética tradición industrial.

De esta forma, el vidrio de las caras norte del edificio conviven en armonía con las fachadas opacas formadas por paneles sándwich in situ, con las que protegerse del resto de orientaciones de este enclave. Un ejercicio de respeto y sostenibilidad que no hace sino fomentar la funcionalidad de este edificio, así como maximizar el confort de sus usuarios.

Una funcionalidad compleja, en contraste con la aparente sencillez de su envolvente, en la que conviven usos orientados a las visitas guiadas con que la marca recibe al usuario a través de su polivalente hall de entrada, un área de catas, las oficinas comerciales como parte de la nueva sede de Cerveza Victoria en Málaga, el área productiva, la zona de envasado y llenado de beerdrive, el almacén de distribución y logística, así como las oficinas y usos vinculados que este almacén requería.

Un conjunto de espacios concatenados y visualmente conectados, donde la luz y el visitante se erigen en principales hilos conductores del proyecto.
